Debbie M. Schell is an attorney and author who is a Partner with the Law Firm of Wagner & Schell, L.L.P. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Immigration & Nationality Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR). A child of immigrants herself, Ms. Schell's experience with immigration began early when her mother immigrated to the United States from Jamaica and her father came to the U.S. from Belize. Ms. Schell has extensive experience in immigration as well as in employment and international business law. She is the author and co-author of six books in two languages on various topics and issues on immigration. In addition, she has extensive experience with human rights issues related to employment, housing, public accommodations, and public contracts.

Ms. Schell obtained a B.A. in Political Science from DePaul University received her law degree from Southern Illinois University. Ms. Schell lives and practices in Des Plaines, IL, with her husband and children.
